Importance of Plastic Recycling

Plastic products have become an essential part of our lives. Numerous objects of everyday use are made from different kinds of plastic. It has advantages over other materials because it costs less, easily resists corrosion and is extremely elastic and strong.
These characteristics make plastic a perfect material for manufacturing different products like plastic bottles, plastic films, milk jugs, disposable cups & plates, food containers, drainage pipes, computers and a lot more. Every product has advantages as well as disadvantages. Plastic has its disadvantages as well as plastic waste causes a serious threat to the environment. Recycling bins are proof of the amount of plastic disposed every day.

Why is plastic recycling needed?

  • Due to the various advantages of plastic products, it is widely used, which has resulted in the increase of plastic waste. Plastic does not decompose for a long time, so if it is disposed in landfills then it is going to take thousands of years to decay.
  • Tons of water and energy is required in the manufacturing of plastic and as a result harmful gases are released, which contributes to global warming.
  • Plastics waste that ends up in the ocean also results in the death of earth’s animals, especially birds and fish.
  • Therefore, it is essential that plastic products must be recycled and should not end up in landfills or in our oceans.

PLASTIC RECYCLING & CHALLENGES:

Recycling of plastic offers a practical solution to all these problems. In the plastic recycling process, used plastic products are broken down and then remolded into other usable products. Recycling of plastic is not as simple as the reprocessing of other materials like paper, glass and metals. Plastics are of different types and each type has a unique identification code. Plastics according to their resin codes should be recycled separately.

What is ‘RRR’?

The three ‘R’ play a vital role in saving the environment. It stands for: Reduce, Reuse & Recycle.
Reuse: Plastic products should be used again and again as much as possible. Going for product refills is good rather than buying new plastic containers.
Recycle: Get knowledge about the fundamentals of plastic recycling. The first step involves identifying the different types of plastics. Generally, it is not difficult as plastic products such as containers and bottles have this information printed on it.
Make sure to clean the plastic before putting them in recycling bins so it does not pollute the recycling process. Plastics Recycling Bin manufacturers have come up with different types of bins in every shape and size to fulfill the diverse needs of end users.
